You know, this actually can be a good way to meet men. My first summer in my curent neighborhood was ungodly hot causing my hands to swell, so I did not wear my rings. I had joined the local La Leche League, a play group and a all female book club. Several women tried to fix my up with male relatives until they all realized I was married, not divorced. I’m sure I would have met some nice men had I been interested.
No matter what you are looking for-a man, a job, a used car–it’s good to have a social network.

Some hospitals and community centers run new mom/child care class or mommy and me classes, the Y teaches baby swim/water safety. There’s La Leche League for breastfeeding moms. When William gets older, there are play groups. All those things generate friendships between new moms.
